New York is a concrete
jungle, especially when trying to commute from one destination to another. When
there’s a population of 8.2 million people (nyc.gov), in addition to the 8.2
million people in New York City 55% of them commute through mass transit. Especially
during rush hours there’s a ratio of 4 out 5 New Yorkers take mass transit
during rush over (mta.info).
Leaving me to bad
experience when I commute, every day I take the bus or subway I’m prepared for
the shoving, the pushing, the feet stepping and the worst part is when it’s to
crowed that you can’t move in the bus or subway. As time goes by you could even
get used to it and even say it’s a normal New Yorker experience. If I haven’t made
my point yet on how bad is the mass transit due to the amount of people, it
gets worst in the winter. When busses are delayed and people need to stand out
in the cold, in addition to that busses are even slower.
New York mass transit system is great to a certain extent, there’s ups and downs to the New York mass transit system, some aspects that I like from personal experience on the subways is when people dance, sing, pray, act and even play musical instruments. Like I said New York is a concrete jungle and you will see it all here. Some of these performers will leave you astounded with the skills they have, I personally like when the performers dance on the train while it’s moving or when performers sing. These aspects show us that New York has talent and would go to an extent to show they have talent in my opinion. I even love that there are businesses down there and even person who would go from cart to cart to sell.
