Sylvester Stallone is one of my biggest inspiration in fitness and in life. Born on July 6, 1946, in New York City, Sylvester Stallone is one of the most popular Hollywood action stars of all time, playing such iconic characters as John Rambo and Rocky Balboa. I grew up watching his iconic movies. While there was Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and the man beast Chuck Norris I was naturally drawn to Sylvester "Sly: Stallone.
Sly has always been an inspiration in fitness .The physique that Sly had, as a little kid I always aspired to have when I grew up. Even at the age of 67 Sly puts in work at the gym like no one else. There was a time that I wanted to be a boxer like Rocky Balboa. The training that went on in that film was intense. The music that was used in all the Rocky movies I have on my ipod to help me push out the last rep on an exercise.
Stallone had a rough childhood, "his parents were constantly arguing and struggling to support him and his younger brother Frank Stallone" (Sylvester). When Stallone moved to Switzerland on an athletic scholarship he appeared in a school production of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman. With that experience he wanted to become an actor. When he moved back to the United States he went to the University of Miami to study drama.Stallone had trouble finding work and according to the biography channel website "Finding it a struggle to get parts, he wrote his own screenplay and the Rocky and Rambo legend was born.". Sly's determination inspires me, his never give up attitude made Sly a self made actor, producer, and director. Stallone's movies even try to motivate their audiences. Sly has always and continues to be one of the biggest inspirations in life.
