Did you ever live anywhere else other than New York City? How did it affect you? What was so different there than from here? Personally, I have never lived outside the city except for Upper Brookville which is in the vicinity Oyster Bay, Long Island. The “city” and Upper Brookville are totally different in every way. Living in Upper Brookville for a little while changed me. It feels like you’re not in New York anymore.
Upper Brookville is named after a brook that once ran along the main road Wolver Hollow (Wiki). The village was originally supposed to be named Lower Brookville, but with the efforts of resident Hope Goddard Iselin, whom is an American singer and actress, refuted the name proposal because the word lower was beneath her (Wiki). She suggested Upper Brookville. The village should have been Lower Brookville because the land is lower than the surrounding areas (Wiki). Upper Brookville is filled with acres of beautiful trees plants and huge mansions. I know this because I lived in one.
I moved to Upper Brookville when I was eightteen after high school to get away from the city. I thought it would be a good idea since I was at the pinnacle of manhood. I didn’t want the influence of the city to ruin my chances for a good future. It’s rough in New York City. So, I moved in with my Godparents and started the beginning of my life. Boy was it a good start. The driveway was a quarter mile long and the front lawn was a seven acre mountain. Great for sledding in the winter! The house was huge. I had y own bedroom with my own bathroom, and a walk in closet. The closet was the size of my son’s bedroom now. The basement had a huge game room that had a pool table, ping pong, air hockey, and even a foosball table. It had another room that was a gym. Next to that was a huge family room with the most comfortable couches ever. The basement also had a real poker table. Poker nights were so much fun. It doesn’t end. Next to that was the video game room. Every console you can think of at that time was there, along with the games. Did I mention that there were flat-screen tv’s along all the walls in the basement. My favorite part of the basement was my Godfathers’ thirteen seat movie theater. It was pure heaven. I used to take my video games and play in there. I never wanted to leave. There was unlimited snacks and food. Huge pool and yard in the back. Basketball court and Atvs to ride on the property. It was too much. I can't even compare this to anything in New York City. I was the Fresh Prince of Upper Brookville.
