New York City is full of the most
famous and most admired rappers in the world. Many rappers were born in
Brooklyn who went on to become top contenders for the best rappers. But there
is one rapper that was born on May 21, 1971 that took hip-hop by storm. His
name was Christopher Wallace, aka Biggie Smalls or The Notorious B.I.G. Wallace
had a very interesting career that set the bar high for the rap industry. At only
22 years old he released his first album Ready
to Die which instantly became a huge hit and took his career of.
Christopher
Wallace’s career makes me very interested in his career because he only
released one album before he was shot and killed in California (biography). His
album went platinum. That is amazing because many rappers try to be as big as him
but they all fall short and never be as big as Biggie Smalls. Biggie Smalls had
a short career in the rap business but it did not take much to make his name
known and making him one of the best rappers ever alongside Tupac, who he had a
feud with.
Christopher
Wallace is someone to admire because he overcame the toughness of the street
life to make it big in the rap game. His neighborhood was Bedford-Stuyvesant in
Brooklyn where as a kid he was exposed to the streets which were full of drug
dealers and drug addicts. He became a drug dealer and arrested (biography).
This is truly amazing because he kept seeing the violence and was influenced by
the streets but he did not let this path affect his career of being a rapper.
This is someone to admire because it shows that no matter what, you can make it
in world and be who you want to be.
