In New York City, you can get around anytime you want to.

New York City  is believed to be home of more than  eight millions of people. Most of its residents commute daily to go to work, to go to school, and to go for shopping for example. How do all these people commute? What transportation means do they use in their daily commuting? Those are the kinds of questions I may ask myself if I do not live in the city, or I want to visit it. First of all, by order of magnitude the city transportation system has the train lines, the buses( called public transportation), but also taxis, private cars as well as private buses for sightseeing that take tourists around the city.
The trains are far more the most used transportation means by New York City commuters. According to "an internal memo prepared by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in early November 2013, October 24, 2013 hit a record subway rides in the city: 5,985,311 took the subway on that day"(Flegenheimer).  This number is close to six millions of  people travelling in one day. It likes half  of the population of my country(Guinea) taking the trains within the time frame of twenty- four hours.  This shows how  dynamic the city is. It is a moving city, a city which is full of energy.
But I think most of us do ride the trains or the buses because of affordability.  For instance, with two dollars and seventy five cents I can ride on the subway from the Bronx all the way to Brooklyn  or Queens, etc... Even though most people ride the subway or the buses, everything is not perfect. During the rush hours for example, the subway may be very, very crowded. Sometimes there are delays, that is annoying for many riders who want to get where they are going as  quickly as possible. Traffic is another issue for many commuters, specially for drivers. But over all, the New City York Transportation System works very well. Personally, I thing the number 6 line is one of the best train lines in the city.
Besides the buses and the trains used by New York City commuters to get from point A to point B, taxis cabs are widely used by those who can afford them.  The New York City taxis cabs are mostly recognizable by their colors. There are yellow cabs, black cabs and now green cabs. Those cabs operate on the basis of 24/7. Those taxis operate day and night even when the weather does not cooperate. Today for example, there is a snow storm, when most people stay home, many taxis cab drivers are out there on the slippery roads trying to get people where they want to go, work, home,or elsewhere.Believe me the city is a beautiful place to live and work.
