They say New
York is the city that never sleeps, which is true because New York
City transportation is always running no matter what. For Instance
you can work all day and come out late and still find a train, taxi or bus
whichever you prefer. I have been living in new York city for 14 years now and
from experience I believe there is no place like new York, I alway
find a taxi or a bus in order to get home or to school, but in other
places I have visited its wasn't the same at all.
New York City transportation is very
helpfully to many of us because half of New Yonkers commute with a
train or bus. As a New Yorker I have experienced the good
and the bad while commuting with the subways.
I have meet very interesting commuters in these trains and
bus, they are all different and unique in their own ways. When I enter a
train I usually look around and most of the times I see many
different people from all over the world, from looks to language, culture, ethnicity and
the way they are dresses. i find it amazing at at times when I am
commuting and i start hearing one
couple speaking Chinese and the person standing above
them is speaking French or Spanish to a friend or
family members. its shows that we are all different people and you
never know where you may meet . the subways to me is like a mixture of
everything, its like a melting pot.
According to the Article, 55 percent of
new Yonkers commute by the mass transit and
the Staten Island ferry are the busiest in the nation, they
carry 20 millions of passengers annually, I am
not surprised by this because New York is one of the
busiest city and people sometimes rather commute with the trains or
a ferry. I personally enjoy taking the trains because I haven't yet encountered any bad experience happening
to me. but last summer as I was leaving school with friend we
entered the 6 train, and she experienced a very bad ride home,
we wasn't aware while we was having a conversation in the
busiest train her iPhone was stolen from her backpack, which I taught
she was just making it up but unfortunately it was stolen . I was shocked
because all my life commuting with the subway i have
never experienced such thing. it was horrible to see her go
through that . I felt so bad for her but I couldn't do much.
but overall the mass transit are very
helpfully for most of us, if they were no thefts or
crazy people in the trains I believe everyone commute will be very easy
and many commuters will not be afraid to take the trains because of
what they experienced in the past. Although Transportation
is made for us to commute from one place to another sometimes it
does give us headaches and at times we are not pleased depending on
our mood or situations .
