Music in the subway     

   Music is “an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color”. Music is what many of us enjoy to listen to whether you enjoy R&B, Hip hop, Jazz or African music we all can relate to some type of music genre.

   New York City subways are an interesting place where many talented people come to express their feelings through music.  Music is one way to tell the world who you are or your life stories. I often found it very annoyed when a band comes in the train to entertain the commuters but I later realized that Its their way of expressing their taught and emotions. while riding the trains we encounter many different things, such as music instrument being played or a dance group but most of  times they sing. 

    I once experienced the most beautifully voice one day as I was waiting for the six train on 125 street, I was very tired and I had a lot on my mind that late evening. I remember just thinking to myself  great why do these guys have to start singing , I wanted the six train to come as fast as it could, but unfortunately it didn't come on time, however I was blown by this strangers voice I couldn't not believe what my ears was hearing. When he was singing I forgot where I was at the moment. I actually felt like I was watching a front row concert. When he finish singing I didn't want him to stop because his voice was so calm and the words was very touching. I don’t think I ever experienced a voice like his. it was one of a kind and if I was to hear his voice anywhere I would recognize it.

  When I commute I don’t really except to be entertained but i often meet so many talented strangers in these subways, I sometimes wonder what are they doing with their life's in these subways collecting money. Although I enjoy the music I still wonder what really happened to them why are they still singing in the subways. What if someone can help them get a music record which would change their lives forever. 

Music is one way we express how we feel most of the times. We are all exposed to some type of music especially if you live in New York City because everywhere you go there  is some type of music. I personally enjoy listening to all kinds of music such as American, African or Jamaican it don’t matter I am already exposed so why not.
