I went to High School in Spanish Harlem, and my experience
with other people from different ethnicity was very limited. There was a teacher
who was very outspoken and didn’t care much about other countries but his. He
was from Argentina. My teacher would say the meanest things to the students and
he wouldn’t care. He would also state that his teaching was correct and we
should follow him. Needless to say he was the teacher that everyone tried to
avoid. There is something that I didn’t know about his country, that Che
Guervara was Argentinian and led the Argentine-Cuban Revolution. We started
talking about this interesting fact and he opened up a bit more. I also told
him to stop being such an A-hole. After our conversation he started changing up
a bit. He started to acknowledge other peoples feeling about the racist remarks
he made towards the students.
