What a Ride!

Everyday for my four high school years I would ride the Bx40 bus for an hour from home to school and back, in the morning on my way to school it felt like the longest ride ever. I would always listen to music on my phone and when I forgot my headphones at home it was torture, I had to listen to all the parents yelling at their kids, all the kids talking, yelling , crying , and people having conversations on the phone. After school I had fun with my friends, making fun of others and having conversations about things that happened in school so the bus ride didn't feel so long during afternoons. One afternoon about 6 or 7 older kids got on the bus and were requesting money from one of my friends , and they started beating on him for his phone. They threatened all of us to start giving everything up , money , phones , anything we had. Ever since I prefer to pay taxis or I sit in the front of the bus. Transportation in New York City can be dangerous, especially in the Bronx, I just wish somebody could've helped stop them like Seattle bus passengers tackled an armed robber but instead everyone stared and did nothing.
