Understanding Hip Hop

Hip Hop is the kind of music you can listen to in any type of condition. Whether  you’re  happy or sad, up or down there’s always that one song that can make your day. Hip Hop originally started in the south Bronx, New York. Initially Hip Hop started with four elements B-boying, mcing, graffiti and djing. B-boying  is consists of people break dancing in a crowd, mcing is spitting rhymes it can be free styling or it can be two people battling one another. Graffiti is known as art work that people come up with this can be tag names or just random art drawing that meaningful also djing is the mix of music, djing is mostly used in a party or events to get the scenery started or hype.

Huff Post Entertainment states that “Hip Hop music is unfairly scapegoated because it's misunderstood. More English grammar and literature is in the lyrics of these songs than anyone ever gives credit for: similes, metaphors, entendre, puns and more. The problem is people aren't willing to give it a chance, even looking down on those who enjoy It.” Which I agree because Hip Hop over time changed, it’s not the same as it used to be over the years when it first started. When Hip Hop first started it was all about enjoying yourself and having fun now it seem all Hip Hop is about now is the money, fast cars, and women. So I would understand why people would judge someone for liking Hip Hop music they are assuming that that person is what they rap about which is not the case because there is so much more to the rap songs. A person has to take the time out and listen and don’t let the beat of the song or the person tone of voice scared you away from listening.
